Dell’Ugo Gluten Free Penne Pasta: the UK’s first branded chilled GF pasta

Dell'Ugo Gluten Free Penne Pasta

Dell’Ugo Gluten Free Penne Pasta

Dell’Ugo is the UK’s largest fresh pasta brand and has been making pasta since 1929. But did you know they do an amazing gluten free range too?

So how did their gluten free range come about? Turns out, Kate, the wife of Dell’Ugo owner Paul Ugo is wheat sensitive, and he wanted them enjoy pasta meals together again. Awww. Bounce into spring with Woman&Home’s Eating Smart

Woman&Home Eating Smart Magazine

Woman&Home Eating Smart Magazine

When this magazine launched last year we immediately became big fans. The spring edition is out now and as usual it’s packed full of gluten free and dairy free recipes from the likes of Mary Berry, Jamie Oliver and Saturday Kitchen’s James Martin.

We love the Meals in 30 Minutes section that includes In-a-hurry curry and Butternut Squash and Beetroot Tortilla with Goats’ Cheese. I’ll be making that this week.

The baking section includes marzipan-topped fruit cakes and an amazing looking Hazelnut and Chocolate cake. And the Salted Caramel Chocolate Pots are a diet-killer. So to make up for it, check out the low-calorie meals that include North African Fish Tagine and Lemon and Coriander Hummus. Read the rest of this entry »

As was stopping by the juice bar afterward and ‘treating’ myself to some super healthy green drink that normally tasted like cut grass. So LA! Back in the UK I was thrilled when Whole Foods took over the old Barkers building in Kensington; it’s worth a visit just for the freshly made peanut butter. And now there are nine stores in the UK with the new Fulham store opening this week (April 10th 2014). Read the rest of this entry »
