Bruschetta Restaurant, Kingston: The UK’s first gluten free restaurant
UPDATE: Unfortunately it seems the Bruschetta restaurant in Kingston has now closed down.
If you’re in the Surrey or south London area you absolutely must visit Bruschetta in Kingston upon Thames. This amazing gluten free Italian restaurant is run by the fabulous Julia and Daniele. And the best bit? The entire menu is gluten free. Yes, there is a ‘regular’ menu for those in your party who want to eat the wheaty stuff. But why would they? The gluten free menu is so packed full of delicious and authentic Italian dishes you can probably convert them for good.
Having visited last Saturday, I can thoroughly recommend the Pizz’Italia pizza with mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, rocket and fresh ricotta. Seriously tasty. My friend had the Finocchiona pizza with mozzarella, tomato, artichokes heart, Italian fennel salami and parmesan. The pizzas are incredibly filling. But we still found room to share a slice of Julia’s chocolate cake. Delicious.

Great Noa. I’m sure there are others too. And hopefully this is increasing year by year. If anyone has any others close to them then do let us know. The Carluccios chain often has a specialist menu too.
This is not the UKs first gluten free or only gluten free restaurant, as The Alasia is entirely gluten free and has just won runner up eating out gluten free restaurant of the year. We are glad your experience was wonderful at Bruschetta, but suggest you amend your article heading.

Hey Michaela. Nope it’s not the only gluten free restautant in the UK. Hooray for that. But it was the first apparently. (It’s been there for ages but I’ve only just got around to visiting it!)

Great fresh gluten free pastas, bread and pizzas! There were gluten free options for everything on the menu. Some of my friends that went that ate the normal wheaty items also liked too, so if you’re friends that can eat wheat aren’t feeling too adventurous they can be equally wowed by the usual fare.

Did you know that Bruschetta’s gluten free pizza bases and fresh pasta are now available to to buy and take home to store in the freezer?
